If you are a pretty girl who lives in or close to northeast England, then you fit one of the criteria Dusk Films, obviously. But more than that, there are other things to consider before applying. Since this is a studio that aims to create fun, laidback, and professional shoots.

I have my own theory as to why this might be, but this section of the website is entirely blank. That's especially strange to me considering how thorough the Paul Taylor page is. Perhaps it's because the article was never completed, or perhaps Grey is no longer affiliated with Duck Films.

I don't want to sound like I'm spreading innuendo, but it would be nice if the page was either taken down, completed, or some explanation was given. This also brings to mind something else: I wish that this firm would revive their Facebook and Twitter profiles so it'd be easier to get studio updates.

By the way, in the interest of being thorough, if anyone does find out why this page is the way it is, let me know. I'll update this article for everyone's benefit.

Honestly, The Pay Rate Is Kind of So-so

In any business, what is considered good pay varies on a lot of things, from the requirements of the position, the rarity of one's skill, the worker's cost of living, among many others. However, a decent metric to go by are established industry rates, which you can look up online.

This can be a little tricky since some porn studios are very public about what they pay, while others are highly guarded by how much they compensate models. In the latter case, that usually means the level of pay is subpar.

Another complication is what studios are willing to pay, which is sometimes a reflection of how much revenue they are pulling in. Unfortunately, the "standard" rate is all over the place in the United States and Canada, a little more even but not spectacular in Europe, and comparatively poor in the UK.

That's not to say that Dusk Models pays their models next to nothing, but the rates aren't going to make you rich overnight. At the bottom end, a solo scene will earn you a mere £200-£250 and about the same or maybe a little more for a lesbian performance.

The same is true for boy-girl scenes as well, though you can get a decent £300-£400 if the scene includes anal. In the interest of being fair, these are not the absolute worst rates I've seen, but they are hardly as lucrative as other studios outside of the UK.

Even established performers aren't going to get above 450 pounds. To put that in perspective, previous pornstars who had a following like Belle Knox was able to rake in between 1,000-1,500 US dollars per anal or gangbang scene – that's equivalent to about £750-1,125.

Another thing I don't see on this site, which is concerning, is that there doesn't seem to be an opportunity to collect residuals. Getting some kind of future slice for your work, even if you aren't paid much upfront, allow some performers to make bank.

For instance, Mia Khalifa claims to have only made about $12,000 for the dozens of films she did, though she ended up netting six-figures in residuals over the years.

There Are Some Red Flags I See On This Website

At first glance and upon further analysis – for the most part, that is – this company does seem to be above board and with it. However, there were a few consistent, shall I say, irregularities associated with some parts of the website.

And I'm not just talking about the weirdness I mentioned in the last section. For instance, there are a fine number of testimonials from some lovely ladies. But they are all from several years ago.

The same is true for the blog. Dusk Films used to have a pretty neat blog section, but it hasn't been updated with any new content since 2013!

There are also other strange things that signals to me that the company isn't as competitive or innovative as they once might have been. It may be a stretch to infer this, but some other parts of the website no longer seem to be functioning the way they used to, if at all.

For example, the download link no longer seems to be working, and the Secret gift which used to be offered doesn't work for me – so, make of that what you will.

And My Final Conclusion Is This

Seeing as I'm not a British girl looking to get in front of the camera and bear it all. However, if you are such a person, maybe this could be the first film studio to work with. Further, if you are an established model in the UK area, this is probably another fine firm to make money with.

That is, of course, assuming this studio is still filming as regularly as they do. Again, the pay isn't the best, but they are willing to help people travel and do seem to have fine working conditions. They also do provide an excellent amount of information about who they want to work with and what to expect on set.

I would even go so far as to say even if you don't want to or can't work with Dusk Films but want to do porn, read their posts. They are incredibly thorough and act as an awesome introductory primer for those who wish to be fap stars.

With that tacit endorsement, I am going to give this company four hands out of five.
