Integromat (Make)
integromat.com
Integromat sounds like a laundromat where the staff won’t jerk off into your socks while you’re out grocery shopping, but it’s actually something a lot more useful. (Well, if you’re a porn webmaster, that is. This thing might be useful to the most advanced geeky masturbators, but it’s not even porn-oriented.) They sum up the whole concept in a two-sentence blurb out on the landing page: “Integromat lets you connect apps and automate workflows in a few clicks. Move data between apps without effort so you can focus on growing your business.”
In a nutshell, Integromat.com lets you connect services and automate tasks without learning how to code. It’s a tall order, and I might be ready to call bullshit if they didn’t have such a good reputation. Based in Prague, the company’s been around since 2016, and their website gets millions of visitors a month these days. That means they aren’t some untested startup hoping to get your business; they’ve got a proven track record, and the product is used by some major companies, like Cisco, Adidas, Uber, and Airbnb. Shit, maybe they’re even good enough for a smut peddler like me or you. Let’s take a closer look.
More Integrity Than Your Local Laundromat
Integromat.com sure looks nice from the outside. They’ve got a clean, modern logo and a layout to match. But, of course, we’ve all seen the same general setup from a lot of big tech companies, so there’s not much to draw from the presentation other than the fact that they have a few bucks to throw into the design. It sounds like a small thing, but as a guy who’s tried fucking with newer, smaller companies, I just feel a lot more comfortable with a joint that looks like this one.
But let’s talk about the product because that matters a hell of a lot more than the blue gradient background and big-name customer logos pasted on the page. There’s a minute-long intro video right below the fold, and while it looks and sounds nice enough, it doesn’t really spell out much more than what I’ve already said. As animated icons find their way together, a bubbly lady rambles on about, “Integromat will connect apps, services, and smart devices into automated scenarios and will do the work for you.”
The screengrabs about integration were a little more interesting. The first shows a simple setup, watching Google Sheets and then funneling that into an automatically sent email. The second shows a considerably more advanced automation, integrating Webhooks, JSON, Email, Slack, XML, and Android. I’m so entry-level at this point I am not even sure what this chain accomplishes, but it sure looks advanced.
One of the most significant selling points is that Integromat.com supports hundreds of apps/APIs and can make them work together. They’ve got a whole list available, so you can check to make sure your chosen tools are compatible before you sign up. I see a ton of big names and major players on the list, including Airtable, Discord, Facebook, Gmail, Instagram, and Mailchimp.
But WTF Can It Actually Do?
I know some of you out there are probably thinking, “Holy fuck, this sounds way above my skill level, even without learning to code.” Integromat sure sounds powerful as hell, and that’s got to come with a steep learning curve, right? Well, I’m sure the really tech-savvy motherfuckers can come up with some elaborate shit nobody’s ever seen before. But for the rest of us, they’ve got over 3000 free templates that tackle common and essential automations.
Honestly, if you’re still confused about the potential applications of Integromat, their Templates page is worth a look. There’s an excellent search filter to find the apps you use and the automations you want to create, but there are some damn useful templates that pop up at the top of the page. As a few random examples, you can watch an RSS feed send every new item as a Telegram message, automatically add incoming emails to Google Sheets, parse JSON from the output of an HTTP module, transform Discord messages into tweets, or post new Facebook pages to older Facebook pages.
Even if you’re not planning on using any of the default templates, they’re probably worth a look just to see how things work around here. Then again, one of the reasons the company’s been so popular is that they’re user-friendly as fuck. You can create your own integrations using a visual drag-and-drop editor.
That editor is one of the big things that separates Integromat.com from older automation techniques that require you to learn scripting languages and other esoteric mystical shit. It doesn’t take a fucking mental genius to look at the Integromat automation chains, full of familiar icons, and understand what’s going. You’ll see precisely how the data flows through the chains in every scenario.
That said, a little bit of knowledge can go a long way. Excel users will feel at home using functions and values, while the absolute newbies to the stuff might have a little homework to do. Fortunately, they’ve got a fucking ton of documentation available in the help section, with examples and screengrabs galore.
But How Much Is It Gonna Cost Me?
How much would you expect to pay to finally connect your ActiveCampaign to your ClickUp, run it through Pipedrive CRM, and then automatically integrate it with Shopify and Salesforce? That’s kind of a trick question, but I’ve got a few answers for you. One of my favorite ones is this: basic Integromat.com services are free. I mean, really free, not like trial free where you have to pony up your credit card digits for when the sneak peek runs out. They don’t require any payment information to get on board with the free tier.
As with so many of the services I list here at PornWebmasters, the free services are limited, and you get more as you pay more. For starters, the freebie-loving cheapskates out there get a thousand operations a month, 100 MB data transfer a 15-minute minimum interval. You get ten times the operations and data transfer with 5-minute intervals for just under ten bones a month. At the far end of the spectrum, $299 will get you 800,000 operations, 220 GB of data transfer, and a minimum interval of just one minute. Free users are limited to 2 active scenarios, but it’s unlimited for all paying members.
There’s also a Let’s Connect button on the pricing chart in case you need more power than that. And for Enterprise users with a big-ass operation to run, they also offer free demos of the high-end shit. Of course, this is the tier the big boys are using, like Spotify, GlobalPayments, and Heineken. Most of you probably won’t need to go nearly that big with Integromat, but it’s good to know the scalability is there in case your little anal porn project blows up.
At $29, Integromat’s Standard rate is the best fit for a lot of operations. And while the $9 plan might give you enough firepower as far as operations and bandwidth, you don’t get real support until you hit that Standard rate, which is why I’d recommend it for those with less experience in tech matters. Then, of course, trying the free version is a no-risk way to see how easy it is and how well it works even without someone holding your hand.
At the end of the day, it isn’t any kind of a mystery why Integromat.com has built and maintained as much popularity as they have. You don’t even have to be an internet porn pusher to see how fucking useful their features would be. The ability to integrate apps and automate tasks is vital for running any kind of company, which is why you see such noteworthy names on their client list. Hell, maybe in a few years, Integromat will list your Asian lesbian BDSM paysite alongside the sporting goods companies and social media apps using their services. Until then, though, they can sure save you a lot of time, effort, and probably money, too.
