There are now more laws in the United States than any other country in the history of the world. If you're an entrepreneur, other challenges to running a successful business include relatively new hurdles like online piracy, unchecked data breaches, and legal fuckery, which exploits holes in the legal system.
As unfortunate as it is, you’re going to need legal advice, if not law assistance on standby all the time.
Finding legal aid isn't too difficult, but finding someone or a team that is qualified can be harder. Fortunately, I have done all of the leg work and gone all over the internet and found some great ones. Austin Law Group is an exceptional example which you are going to want to read all about.
They Practice Law In A Variety Of Areas
If you look at other law firms I’ve reviewed, I tend to focus on those who specialize in assisting porn studios and/or adult entertainment models. This one provides an enormous number of services, in addition to those related to the nudie industry. Without any further ado, let’s get into a breakdown of the immense number of services this company provides.
Litigation
According to the website, this company has 40 years of experience in investigating and processing discrimination issues. To be specific, they have a history of litigating civil rights, employment, and other forms of discrimination.
Further, they have 20 years of experience in general disability lawsuits and collecting public and private benefits.
Business Records & Non-profit
Running a business can be a pain in the ass sometimes, as someone like me knows from experience. And I’m someone who’s riding it on easy street since I’m entirely based online. I know enough to know that running a brick-and-mortar enterprise has a whole mess of legal hurdles.
And a lot of these headaches can apply to non-profits and fundraising organizations.
Depending on the industry that you are in, you'll need to get one or several licenses, secure real estate deals, set up employee contracts, and deal with incorporation. Then, of course, there is the legal shitstorm of correctly filing state and federal filings. ALG can help you out with all of these issues and more.
To be honest, no matter which other of these industries you are in, this is one which all of you will benefit from.
Cannabis
When it comes to living Stateside, navigating the world of the cannabis trade is a nightmare. Even in states where the substance is legal both medicinally and recreationally, you'll have to deal with all sorts of issues.
Getting a license to grow and sell can be different depending on the state; there are more regulations involved than selling booze, and hashing out disputes in the court can be extra difficult. Another major problem is the fact that most banks don't want to do ACH and wire transfers with such businesses.
Then there is the fact that cannabis is still illegal at the federal level, so there is the risk that you might get raided depending on who is in the White House.
Some of this frustration can be avoided with the ALG’s specialists in this area can help you with most of these potential problems.
LGBTQ
To be honest, I was a little surprised to see this on the website, not that I have anything against it. Then again, one of their offices is located in San Francisco, where, as we all know, only gay sex is legal. XD
Anyway, suppose you are queer or trans. In that case, this law firm can provide assistance when it comes to traditional marriage contracts, relationship agreements, and last will and testaments. Further, they can sort through issues related to dual power of attorney, which is something you're going to need if you're looking to tie the knot.
When it comes to trans folks specifically, they can also get you set up with a legal name or gender changes. Apparently, they do good work too, as one of their former clients has been quoted as saying….
“These folks are pitbulls! Very sweet to those they serve, and protective when needed. I love them! They help the trans community immensely.”
Adult Entertainment
Now, this is probably the service most you were curious about. In the past, they have represented several explicit entertainment firms, whether they shoot and sell adult films, retail, or wholesale. In a similar vein, they can assist with obscenity lawsuits and mail order compliance.
According to their site, they can provide plenty of additional legal advice to companies. However, it’s not clear if they provide similar services to individual models. I guess you’ll have to ask.
Music & Multimedia
If there is anything as pirated as porn online, it has got to be music. If this is something you worry about ruining your music career – and believe me, you absolutely should – then consider giving this law firm a call. They take a holistic approach when it comes to music intellectual property.
In other words, when it comes to band names, lyrics, music beats, and domain names, they can protect your productions. Furthermore, they can help when it comes to licensing deals and contracts.
Naturally, they can provide the same series of services if you are in the art, film, or television game. While not explicitly stated, I would bet that they can do the same in the event that you are involved with streaming services as well.
Other Forms of Intellectual Property
Besides the other stuff that I’ve mentioned, ALG can handle IP claims of a physical and digital variety. By that, I’m referring to disputes involving domain names, registration issues, and trademark violations. They can also handle patent claims as well.
As you have seen already and will throughout the rest of this article, getting this kind of legal assistance in combination with others will be vital.
Animals
Yeah, that's correct; along with everything previously mentioned, these guys practice law when it comes to animal legal issues. They don't do much when it comes to animal welfare. That said, when it comes to just about anything else, they can probably help you out.
To give you an idea of the specifics, they can help you with pet-specific liability (i.e., suits involving dog bites), veterinary problems, pet insurance for a variety of critters, including horses, cats, dogs, and birds.
Even if someone has an issue with your service animal, the Austin Law Group can help you out as well.
You Should Look Up The Client Testimonials, Too
It's always nice to see it when former business partners have nice things to say about people they've worked with. This can be seen on the Testimonials page, where there are about have a dozen detailed quotes.
One of the things about this page that I find to be strange is that they only list clients' initials in question. That section of the site would engender more trust in me if they listed full client names and their respective companies.
Get In Contact With Them With Ease
The main means of getting ahold of this firm is by filling out a basic contact form on through their website. A better means, in my opinion, is by phoning one of their two offices. And if you are old fashioned, you can get in touch with the Austin Law Group via fax.
Seriously, give them a call – the initial consultation is completely free and has no strings attached. Just keep in mind that their offices are located in San Francisco and Los Angeles, and they keep regular business hours.
If you need more details about the location of their offices, they are on Facebook, and other social media pages, so plan to call them based on Pacific time.
This Is A Legal Group You’ll Want To Get In Contact With
There isn't too much that I have to say about this site, which I'd consider to be negative. It sucks that they don't show an idea of what their rates are, but I suppose that's to be expected when it comes to law firms.
To be fair, one of their clients has suggested that they are comparatively inexpensive, not to mention fun to work with.
There are also a few things that are ambiguous when it comes to services rendered in a few categories. So, if I were freshening this website up, I’d add a little more detail to the service section.
The only other thing that I’d bitch about is the obnoxious bright red colored, italicized text that is used on the Testimonial page. While the content of those reviews is great and all, trying to read it is a pain in the ass.
With all of that said, this is one of the best I’ve seen. Give them a call or shoot them an email if you think your business is in the market for any of their services. Give their site a look – you probably will.
