What’s that? The Porn Dude reviewing a porn reviewing site? Yup, now you’ve seen everything. Look, these guys aren’t exactly doing what I do. There isn’t that much overlap and I personally think that you can make great use of Fleshbot if you play your cards right. First, let’s talk about how they’re very different from me in terms of how they operate. You can pretty much see the distinction from the home page. Fleshbot is not a directory site with reviews. That’s what I do. They’re more of a blog. They’re a standard blog, at that. I haven’t seen many standard blogs these days turning a profit so I’m kind of glad to see that these guys are doing all right.
Blogs used to be a dime a dozen back in the day, but they sort of fell through, under the crushing pressure of the popularity of videos and images. People stopped reading words when they realized they could just be shown images of the things that they were supposed to imagine in their minds. It’s the same reason books are now dead. The only smut literature that still gets read is the kind of nonsense that hits store shelves because frigid soccer moms need something to discuss during their next book club meeting. Beyond that, literature is a bit of a dead art form in the world of smut and blogs are very lateral to literature. Oh sure, they have the pretty pictures to go with the written word, but it’s still written word. It still serves the same purpose.
Leading the Traffic Back
In the world of online marketing, blogs serve one additional purpose, that is, other than just serving as entertainment. They form a network, an SEO network if you will, with links leading to relevant destinations filled with more content that is somehow relevant to what you were initially reading about. This is where Fleshbot can come in handy to you as a porn webmaster.
I am working under the assumption that you’ve already got some form of pornographic website running, be it a network of tube sites, a file sharing gig or even something basic like a photo album site. It doesn’t really matter how you peddle your smut as long as you have some domain for the traffic to lead back to. That’s what it always boils down to, isn’t it? We want to funnel the traffic back to the final destination that is more often than not our main website, our main base of operations.
Get an Article Written
You could do that using Fleshbot. You could have them write you an article or you could just as easily write one yourself and submit it for their consideration. You would, of course, have to pay them for this privilege, because why the fuck would they agree to market your website for free? Yes, it is theoretically possible that your content is so ridiculously hot that they’d agree to link to you out of the goodness of their hearts, but I wouldn’t hold my breath on that. Business is business. If you want these guys to write about you and link back to you, then you’re going to have to give them monetary incentive. You’re going to have to pay up.
In considering whether you want to have an article on Fleshbot in the first place, you have to look at the content they’ve already posted. You need to get a sense of what kind of content they normally provide, so that you know whether you are a right match, so to speak. You would be marketing yourself to their clientele, after all, so you want to make sure that they’re the kind of bunch who would enjoy your content if they were to read about it on the blog. On top of that, you should pay extra attention to the thumbnails for each article, because they’re fucking gigantic and they play a significant role in pulling in the actual reader to click through to the article and read about the action in question.
One Video, One Article
Most of the articles I’m seeing on here deal with specific porn videos. One article per video. They show some frame from the very middle of the action, usually a photographic still in high quality, to showcase the best part of the video and then they talk for a few hundred words about the action within the video itself. Right here is where you want to stop and ask yourself: Are my videos really as worthwhile as these? Can I pull the same kind of quality stills for the thumbnails? If you’re exclusively dealing in amateur content that looks like it was recorded with a 20-year-old potato camera, then you might have a problem even being considered for an article on Fleshbot. Or, maybe not. Maybe they won’t mind the lower quality content as long as you pay for the review.
Either way, there are considerations to be made here about the presentation of your site. Remember, you only get to market yourself within the article itself. You don’t get a special section on the site or any additional mentions beyond the article and the thumbnail. You have to get really innovative about what you’re going to promote in order to get people back to your website. Otherwise, you will be wasting your time and your money on an investment that simply will not pay itself back. That’s a serious waste of time for both you and Fleshbot. Though, they wouldn’t mind nearly as much as long as you paid them. That much is clear. They make their money on the articles more-so than the clicks. If your particular article is a complete flop, I’m sure they won’t give a shit. But, you will.
Make the Most out of Your Article
Don’t make it a flop. Make your article striking and interesting. Show the people something exciting and irresistible. Find the best piece of smut content on your site and push it to the top of your home page, then requisition an article on that particular piece of smut. Have a writer go through the entire damn thing and write as alluring an article as possible, covering every filthy detail within every nook and cranny of the video. Try to be as appealing as possibly and squeeze out the most potential out of the article that you get to run on Fleshbot in your name.
Keep in mind that your article isn’t going to land on another section of the site under some recommended sites category. It’s going to be listed alongside all the other articles on the site, thereby competing with those articles for clicks. Fleshbot aren’t going to mind you trying your best to be as appealing as possible over the other articles on the site. Plus, your shit is going to be tagged for categories and genres regardless, so it will have some potential in the long run. People might come back to it if it’s topically relevant to their interests.
It’s On You to Make it Count
So, you get two chances to get a lot of traffic back to your site. First, when the article comes out and then after that slowly as people explore the relevant tags on the site. It’s a fast blaze followed by a slow burn over a longer period of time. This is why it’s important to decide exactly which domain you’re going to be leading people back to in advance. The article’s going to stay for a longer period of time, hopefully acting as a passive traffic source for you down the line.
As for the structure of the article, well, that depends on whether you’re going to write it yourself or have someone else do the job for you. I would assume that Fleshbot wouldn’t mind writing the article for you, but if you can find some sort of crack shot article guru who’s an expert at squeezing out literary potential out of online blog posts, then roll with that solution and get yourself a professional article that’s sure to keep paying the bills down the line. It’s all up to you, in the end.
The first step, naturally, is to get in touch with Fleshbot and ask them to check you out. You need to get confirmation that they’re even willing to post an article for you in the first place. Then comes the part when you ask for a quote. You need to figure out how much this is going to cost you. Ultimately, these kinds of blog post marketing efforts can be very profitable, but the mileage varies wildly from one webmaster to another, so I wish you all the luck in the world. I hope it works out for you.
