I know you’re probably sick of tabloids by now, but I like these kinds of websites on account of how much traffic they get for basically doing fuck all. This is one of those websites where you look at it and you just know that they’re doing something right, but not a single thing on the damn site appeals to you as a fucking webmaster, because you know it’s all just a click farm. Everything is a fucking click farm. Google is a click farm, if you think about it. Anyways, back to Egotastic. This is a very simple tabloid site that posts regular updates regarding celebrity events and all kinds of seasonal content that mostly concerns the western world. You could find some extremely foreign posts here and there, but for the most part it’s all discussions on Hollywood stars or Tik Tok garbage. You know, current events.
You won’t find any politics here, as far as I can tell. They’re trying to remain impartial in that regard and good on them. You don’t need political affiliation in this business. It hurts more than it helps, in the long run. It’s easier just to skirt by with entertainment pieces and play dumb while you collect your paycheck. You could learn a lot from Egotastic in how they conduct business. 95% of the website is just pictures of hot people doing random uninteresting things. That’s the standard formula to raking in the clicks. Use hot people on display to get the average visitor all hot and bothered. The actual textual content that comes with each post, if you can even call them that, is minimal.
Pictures are Law
Yes, there are tons of blog posts, but they barely offer any text. You get a short blurb about whatever the post is centered around and that’s it. It’s barely more than the title itself already conveys. So, what’s the point of these blurbs? I don’t fucking know. Maybe they perform some bare bones SEO purpose, but I doubt it. I think it’s just casual padding with the hope that people will respond positively to the text. Or, maybe Google does indeed scan that deeply and this is helpful shit. I can’t know for sure. What I do know is that this website does not give a fuck. This is surface level content if I’ve ever seen it. So, what is it good for?
Well, lots of things, primarily clicks and traffic. As far as I can tell, this practice of focusing mostly on images in lieu of text seems to be working wonders for Egotastic’s overall success. They’re really knocking it out of the park with each following post, even though every single post is in itself very bland. It’s the quantity of low-quality posting that keeps the site afloat with excellent public reception.
Now, I can’t actually guarantee that the public is appreciative of this content, because there are no comments or likes for the blog posts. There is a comments section, ostensibly so. It’s not really a comments section. It’s a button that says comments. It’s also a button that cannot be pressed. So there’s a comments section, but no-one can leave a comment. Very sly of you, Egotastic. I gotta say. That’s some next level trickery right there.
I would normally call “shady” on these kinds of practices, but I simply can’t care enough about the comments section to complain about it missing. In truth, comments sections on these kinds of sites are kind of superfluous at best. If I’m checking out the latest celebrity feet pics or checking out some random information about Christmas shopping, I don’t necessarily give a shit about what other people have to say about the post. This is especially true for the majority of the popular content on Egotastic where you’re pretty much just seeing bikini pics of celebrities. Who the fuck cares about the comments that other random dudes have left on these images? No-one, that’s who. This is why I forgive the misleading comments section.
Quantity of Quality is Winning
I’ve also spoken a lot about Egotastic’s overall success, but the truth is, since this isn’t actually my site, I can’t give you any real numbers on how well they’re doing business or how successful their monetization model is. I ran some SEO analyses and from what I can tell, these guys have over a million backlinks with hundreds of thousands of organic search traffic hits per month, so they’re definitely not struggling. These are the kind of numbers that you can only dream of when you’re first starting out your online porn empire. I’m personally very impressed by the sheer volume of clicks and links, considering the nature of the content. It would appear that Egotastic is proving that quantity can outdo quality, if you play your cards right.
That’s the main takeaway from how Egotastic runs their business. Their posts are uninspiring, their design is overly simplistic and their approach to the written content is blasé at best. I’m seeing typos all-over the place. Granted, there don’t appear to be any typos in the titles of the posts, but what difference does that make when there are literally typos in the content right below? This is extremely unprofessional stuff and yet it doesn’t seem to be hurting the site’s overall appeal in the slightest. I can’t guarantee that they wouldn’t be doing a significantly better job without the spelling errors, but either way, their numbers are looking good.
Widespread Networking
These guys are definitely making money off of their work and they don’t seem to be dialing down the content churn. They pretty much post content every single day. Plus, they’re networking their site’s content on social media, with some posts that are not found on the site, instead remaining exclusively on those platforms. I checked out their Facebook and Instagram profiles and they’re absolutely riddled with titties. For a non-pornographic company, they sure do post a lot of smut. I guess they know the power of boner appeal. If you appeal to the boner, you make the mad money. It’s just common knowledge at this point.
They’ll often cross promote their content, especially when they post something particularly arousing on one platform that doesn’t fit on another platform. They’ll link across platforms to make sure the content train is running, even if there’s only one destination for a particular video or image. For example, they’ll often share sexy non-nude model content on their page in collaboration with the models they’re promoting. They do this very often and they encourage models to get in touch with them for promotion. They’re also open to working with photographers, though I’m guessing you’d have to have photos of hot babes in order to garner a response.
Content and Collaboration
This is where we open up the potential for cooperation with Egotastic. They’re not pigeonholing their traffic funnel. They know that without hot content their popularity would fall off. That’s why they’re more than open to cooperation with webmasters, photographers and models who can provide them with sexy content. Now, if you’re a webmaster, that can be a tough sell for them unless you’ve got exclusive content that’s likely to bring them clicks, so think twice before you contact them.
However, if you are a model or you photograph sexy babes for a living, then you’ve come to the right place. You could drop them a message right now and I’m willing to bet that they wouldn’t leave you hanging for long without a response. The content that these guys get from external sources is the lifeblood of their industry. They can’t do without it. That’s why you’re likely to great treated really well if you were to approach them with a golden goose egg in the form of smut that they can peddle around for their hundreds of thousands of fans.
As always, make sure to check out their content first, before you consider approaching them for a collaboration. That’s arguably the best way to figure out whether you’d be a right fit for each other. Compare what they do to what you do and you should pretty much have your answer before you’ve even asked them the question. Beyond that, you can also use Egotastic as inspiration in running your own blog with a similar approach to popularity and clicks, just keep in mind that holistic networks like this are really hard to build and maintain. The daily posts don’t provide themselves. These kinds of businesses require time and patience as well as regular uploads in order to bloat up to profitable sizes.
