Founded near the very end of the last millennia, PayPal is known around the world as a means to pay for things online. Whether those things are phones or porn, PayPal works the same. To PayPal, it doesn’t matter what you’re selling, as long as it’s legal. Cam sites, porn tube sites, premium porn sites, you get the idea; they are all able to use PayPal as a payment option. So, let’s dig into this service and see just how you can use it in order to benefit your company. There are many different ways to integrate this thing, so I’m sure that you’ll find the optimal one once you’re done reading this review I’ve got in store for you today. You can leave this review feeling a little bit brighter by the end of it, so let’s begin.
Long history of PayPal with 20+ years of experience
First of all, a little bit of history. PayPal was created out of a thing called Confinity, which was built in 1998 and X.com (which is an online banking software founded by Elon Musk), which was launched in 1999. The two of them merged to form PayPal, which went public, sold a lot, and then got bought out by eBay in 2002. Later in 2015, eBay just let the shareholders of PayPal manage the company and it has been doing pretty well for itself ever since, ranking pretty high on the list of companies that bring in the most revenue in the US. Now, if that’s not an achievement worth mentioning, I don’t know what is.
So, you can see that PayPal has a long history of well over 20 years of existence. From its humble beginnings to today, it has managed to create many services that businesses can easily use and integrate into their webshop, their application, their porn site, and so on… I’m pretty sure you’re wondering how you can use the 20+ years of PayPal’s development to your advantage, huh? Well, don’t you worry, it’s something that we will cover in this review, and if you have any more questions, well, you can always refer to PayPal’s website (though they will definitely try to sell you their services on there).
Three different ways of payment integrations
More than 200 million people worldwide use PayPal, and it’s also used by more than 7 million businesses and 15 million merchants. Those are some impressive numbers, but what do they mean for you and your business? Well, if you’re in the business of selling porn, or selling anything for that matter, you need to allow your users to pay for it somehow! One of the great things about PayPal is that it enables people to quickly, effectively, and safely, pay for services online. Of course, this is if the site they are purchasing their services on actually supports PayPal. Not all businesses decide to go with PayPal.
PayPal is mostly used by small to medium-sized businesses before they grow enough for some bigger credit card and e-banking integration. If you own a small-time porn site that is looking to grow its numbers and start selling quickly, then the best solution probably is to start integrating PayPal’s services into your website. The way you’re going to do that depends on you, and you have a couple of options to choose from: HTML website integration, API website integration, or email invoices. Anyone of these will work well, but there are a couple of things you should know about the differences between these solutions. Trust me; you don’t want to get the wrong solution for your website if you’re too big for it.
Email invoicing isn’t the greatest solution I’ve seen
Let’s start with email invoicing because I feel like it’s probably the least professional of the bunch. Email invoicing basically uses PayPal as a medium of transactions, but at the same time, it doesn’t look like the payment is being done on your website. The way it works is that when a customer is looking to buy, oh, I don’t know, let’s say a token package on your cam girl website, they are sent an invoice to their email address. What the customer has to do then is open up that email, click on the button to pay the invoice, review it and enter their credit card details, and after that, they just pay it and that’s that! All done!
I do have a couple of issues with this online email invoice solution, though. It’s the least professional option if you ask me. With so many scams going on online, and so many scam emails being received by people that look like PayPal is sending them, it’s hard to make people believe that your invoice is the real deal without them getting skeptical and shit. At the same time, email invoices are one of the solutions that is possible to use for most people. Many people will know exactly how to use the email invoices, but at the same time, I can see a lot of people being sketchy about it as well. While this solution is far-reaching, it’s not one that I would choose with the other two being in play simultaneously.
HTML website integration allows you to do many things
The next solution we’ll be taking a look at is the HTML website integration. This one isn’t as simple as email invoices, but it’s way more professional. The payments are done on your website, which allows you to sell things directly on the platform without the need for the user to leave to check their email for the invoice and so on. It also solves the issue of porn subscriptions because, let’s face it, most of you guys reading this are going to be selling memberships and subscriptions. These have to fire every month, so with email invoices, you would have to send a new email invoice each damn month! I don’t know about you, but that just sounds like a lot of needless work that this HTML solution solves quickly.
With HTML integration, not only can you allow people to pay with their PayPal account on your site, but you can also leave room for other payment methods too, such as paying with credit cards and so on. It’s also quite simple, and you don’t need a lot of technical knowledge if you want to allow people to pay with PayPal this way. You just sort of slap it on your website and it’s ready to work! It looks a lot more professional than email invoices and it’s something that your users will trust more as well because the entire payment process happens on your site, with a little bit happening on PayPal as well!
Transaction fees can be a bit convoluted to understand
Finally, there’s the API solution that PayPal recommends to medium-sized businesses. I don’t know how I feel about this option. It’s a lot harder to implement and it means that your platform will only support PayPal payments. I would like my users to be able to pay from multiple sources, not just PayPal. Anyway, while it does have these drawbacks, the API solution also allows you to customize the way checkout works, while the HTML integration doesn’t let you change that. Checking out just looks the way it does on the PayPal.com website with the HTML solution, and with the API, you have a lot more wiggle room.
Finally, I want to tell you how PayPal makes all its money. I mean, the money can’t just poof itself into existence, right? Right! That’s why PayPal actually takes a small percentage of every transaction. Now, I can see this as being completely valid, but what I don’t understand is why the fuck PayPal has to make the fees and percentages so damn convoluted and complicated? Why not just have a more straightforward system where people will immediately be able to know how much they’re paying in fees to PayPal? I don’t know guys; I feel like we should know these things clearly when we are using PayPal’s services, and yet that just isn’t the case. I guess you just have to go with the flow as far as that is concerned with PayPal.
