I feel kind of weird reviewing Only Fans, as if you don’t already know everything about the damn site. I don’t know how they managed to sneak into the porn industry so quickly and efficiently. We’ve had similar sites before. It’s not like they invented a new formula or anything. People have been selling nudes and sex tapes on the internet since the late 90s. We live in the social media age and OnlyFans truly is the homemade smut social media site. It combines everything you love about Instagram, Facebook and the like with a touch of LinkedIn and an absolute fuck-ton of porn.
It’s not exactly clear whether this site was developed with porn in mind, but that’s certainly how it ended up. At the very least, the word on the street is that OnlyFans is basically a synonym for “place where you get a person’s nudes”. Back in the day, you’d only really hope to see nudes of celebrities. Today? Everyone can have an OnlyFans and put their private bits on there for the world to see. Hell, your grandmother could run a successful OnlyFans if she wanted.
I’ll tell you a little bit about how fun OnlyFans is to use, but the point of this review is to go over their specifics from the perspective of a potential porn producer. Maybe you want to record yourself; perhaps you’re managing a team of hot babes you want to recruit. Either way, we’ll go through all the features that OnlyFans has to offer and I’ll try to give you some tips and tricks about using this site to grow your porn empire.
Social Media Add-On
OnlyFans is nothing more than a social media platform that you use to peddle videos and images in exchange for a monthly subscription fee. That’s about the short and long of it. People pay you a certain amount of money every cycle and they reserve the right to look at all of your pictures and videos. It’s kind of like putting a lock on your Instagram account and charging admissions. Same principle. But, since OnlyFans is unique in actually letting you make money off of your media, it’s an addendum to your Instagram, it’s not a replacement.
Yes, technically, this site lets you have a free profile as well as a paid one. Meaning, you can post free content to entice your fans to pay for the full monte. But, I don’t recommend that you use OnlyFans as your sole social media platform. Use it in combination with Instagram and Twitter. You can throw in a Facebook too, while you’re at it. You can think of OnlyFans as an add-on to all of your other social media. But, why would people want to pay to see your pics? Well…
The Site’s Intended Use
This site was obviously created by some sort of marketing expert, because it follows one simple rule – if people like what they see, then they’d pay to see more of it. Instagram influencers have been trying to make a living off of their jobs for the longest time, but it’s kind of hard to charge thousands of followers for content that you share for free. They’re not going to pay to see your gym photos. And sure, if you’re some sort of artist, you can make an OnlyFans and share pictures of your art for a fee. But, beyond that, the only way people are going to pay for your media is if you’re sharing smut. Let’s be real here, all right?
If you’re a man, chances are, you’ll have a hard time getting your account off the ground. But, if you’re a chick and you’re not a land whale, boy howdy. You’re going to be making money hand over fist.
So, the general idea is this. You use Instagram and other similar social media to gain a following. You post some photos of yourself that tease at your assets. Some revealing cleavage here, a bit of a butt shot there. Hell, throw in some bikini shots from the beach and a random nipple slip and you’re ready to go. People will be drooling to see the rest of you. More importantly, they’ll sign up to follow you on Instagram. Once you hit a few thousand followers, bam, it’s time to rake in the big bucks. You start posting about your OnlyFans account. You put that link in your bio and on your stories, regularly. You can even reach out to your fans directly and ask them to refer people to your account. You need to go absolutely wild when it comes to marketing your OnlyFans. The more people see it, the better.
Reeling Them In
Once they get to your account, you want to make sure that they see something that will keep their attention. This means that on your free account, you want to have images that are hotter than your Insta shots, but more innocent than the stuff within the actual paid library. So, save the actual proper nudes for the paying customers, but put some implied nudes on your front cover. You want to cultivate mystique and grow intrigue. That’s French speak for: You want men to be hard for you, but you don’t want them to jack off before they pay you. You dig?
As for the inside of your OnlyFans, let me give you a very simple, but crucial tip. Test the waters. Do not under any circumstance jump on the anal penetration shots during your first week. Work your way up. I’ve seen a ton of OnlyFans accounts and most of them started off with implied nudes and nipple slips. They all ended up shoving dragon dildos up their asses, but that came way after. If you give them the good stuff at the start, they won’t stick around. You get paid every month, remember? And, you only have so many holes to reveal. Try to ration them out. Hell, you can even set up events. Say, you won’t reveal your pussy until 10,000 followers and you refuse to shave the damn thing until you double that number. Make it a party. Give people a reason to sign up.
The Financial Aspect
Honestly? It’s a sweet gig, all things considered. You lose 20% of revenue to OnlyFans and everything else goes straight into your pocket. The tax responsibility is deferred to you, so if you live in a country that doesn’t give a shit about online earnings, you effectively keep 80% of everything you earn. In the US, you’d probably have to sign a W-9 form, though. It’s sad, but it’s standard. The bottom line is, OnlyFans have shown their hand – they want to make money off of you, but they only want 20% of it. So, what do you get for that 20%? Well, hosting for one. They host all of your videos and photos. Plus, they protect them so they can’t be accessed by people outside of your paying circle of customers. Now, that circle of customers can still figure out ways to rip your content and pirate it. That’s inevitable.
Still, this won’t matter much if you manage to ration out your milestones like I mentioned. Let’s say you do some tit shots this month and you make around $300 total. You announce that next month you’ll be doing similar sets, but you’ll be covering your tits in moisturizer. I’ve seen chicks do this to simulate cum shots; it’s hot. Anyways, say your tit photos get leaked. That’s not going to matter much, because all the people that are paying for the next month want to see cum tits, not regular tits. So, your profits are safe, for the most part. Try to get people hooked on what’s coming next month, every month. Don’t depend on your old content to keep you afloat, or you’ll drown.
Some Technical Details
Keep in mind that your OnlyFans account might be revoked at any time and your content might be scrapped if you break their rules. The quickest way of losing your account is by posting images or videos of illegal content. But, as long as you keep everything clean and proper, you shouldn’t have any problems. They’re not strict; they’re just responsible. They also point out that they don’t own your content as they are not producers. You are the producer. They’re just the middle man. There’s a ton of legalese that you can go through under their terms and conditions and I suggest that you read the shit out of them. This is important stuff, ok?
As a P.S. let me just add a little bonus – you can earn a 5% commission on any and all referrals you make to OnlyFans, so there’s a lot of money to be made there as well. Hell, you could take new talent under your wing, cop a 5% commission and teach them the tricks of the trade. It could be the start of a beautiful business partnership.
