ICQ is an insanely old chat platform that has seen a recent revival with becoming a cross-device app that is used for people to communicate and for businesses to set up chats with their fans, as well as internal chat rooms to discuss matters that concern the business. You could be running a porn site and looking for a way to communicate with other people involved, and ICQ is a great way to do this because of the various benefits that it has as a platform. It’s a smart platform, it’s fast, and it has many functionalities that other applications simply do not. Let us check out what it is that ICQ provides you with that others do not. You might be surprised when you find out just how much ICQ has changed over the years.
Been around since the 90s
The site and service were initially launched in 1996, which is probably one of the oldest years that I have ever mentioned on any of my sites. More specifically, it was November 15th, 1996, that ICQ first saw the light of day. The service used to be really popular back in the day, but it fell out of fashion as new instant messaging apps started to get a foothold. When smartphones arrived, ICQ was already way back in the dust; however, it has seen a recent revival with a completely rebranded look that feels fast, modern, and overall like an ap and a service that you would want to use. It just looks so good now.
With the first release being on November 15th, 1996, it’s really cool to see how the application has evolved over the years. The first thing you will notice is that they have really embraced a modern UI that most of the other chat apps already have. If you ask me, this is great news, since the app looked really outdated for a long while before they finally decided to do something about it. While the number of users fell drastically over the years from 42 million daily users in 2010, to only around 11 million monthly users in 2013, the new app released on April 6th, 2020, is looking to turn that statistic on its head.
You don’t pay for anything
One thing that has not changed over the years is the fact that ICQ is completely free for you to use. It was always like this, so this isn’t news to anyone who has been a part of the ICQ family at any point of the app’s existence. Now, while all of that is true, it should also be said that they have a lot more in terms of expenses to cover with this new app, so who knows what they might think to do in order to pay for all that. Will they do ads? Who fucking knows? I just hope that the app remains free so that you always have some backup app to fall onto if all the other ones turn to shit like WhatsApp and Viber.
So yeah, chat with whoever you want, whenever you want to, and don’t pay a single penny for it in the process. That’s the entire point of ICQ and I’m pretty sure that you can appreciate that sentiment as much as I do. It’s always nice to see that you have a free service offered to you without you having to do anything. Not to mention that this service has a few benefits that other chat apps don’t. When you take all of these things into consideration, you’ll find out that ICQ might be better for many of the porn operations you might be carrying out with your business and all the comms that have to happen too.
Cool features for easier communication
One of ICQ's great features is that you don’t have to give your phone number to whoever you will be chatting with. You just need their ICQ username and you’re good to go! This makes for a good platform for selling girls’ nudes because they can have an alias that nobody can trace back to their real name. It’s like Snapchat, except that ICQ carries a lot more potential to create bigger communities, which makes it superior in some respects. At the same time, Snapchat has grown to become a household name with many of these girls who sell their nudes and videos through that app. It might be hard for ICQ to sell itself as the place to go to when you want to pay for nudes of various girls.
But ICQ has a lot more to offer than just that. In terms of smartness, it’s probably one of the smarter messenger apps out there. It can provide you with suggestions when you have to make a quick reply. It will also provide you with a feature that will automatically turn your voice message into a text message. This means that even if you are really lazy and don’t feel like typing, you can still hope to get your message across more professionally without the other person having to actually listen to the voice message. And there are a few other features that make this app a lot smarter than the competition.
Really fast application with cross-device synchronization
The app is lightning fast too. It can accommodate many people in a single chat room, up to 25,000 to be exact. With so many people in one place, you would expect the app to run like shit, but this is not the case. The sending and receiving, even in a huge chat group like that, is instant. Of course, I don’t know why you would want to have that many people in a single chat room. The only useful thing I can think of when it comes to that is if you want to give away a free month to one of your loyal fans and all they have to do is answer a poll or something like that. You can organize those and get benefits too.
So while those huge chat groups with tens of thousands of people might not seem like a good idea, what does seem like a good idea is the possibility of communicating as fast as light itself. The synchronization between devices happens so seamlessly that you won’t have to worry about speed ever again. Worries about some of the messages not loading up on your PC while they are loading on your phone will also be gone, so that’s great. This is one of the faster apps to use for communication, too bad that not that many people use it, so it is a lot less useful when you look at it from that aspect. So yeah, there’s that.
Yet another messaging app you’ve gotta install
And besides, people are tired of having to install a billion messenger apps. Many people use iPhones, which means that they will be using iMessage for the most part. Then you have people on Android who usually go for WhatsApp or Viber. Who has the time or the effort to actually install a new app like ICQ? I guess you would have to be a very niche crowd in order to really want to use ICQ as your main messaging app, and it doesn’t make much sense to me with so many other options out there. I guess it’s nice to have this on the table as well if the other apps go rogue with mad advertising and shit like that.
But the app itself looks really nice now that it has been revitalized. You will notice that it has completely new graphics, a very nice UI, and basically, it has pretty much everything that you could possibly need out of it. If you ask me, it’s one of the more beautiful messenger apps that you can use. Add to that the open API, which you can use to create your own bots or use the already created ones that ICQ has to offer, and you have a much more customizable experience than any other popular messenger app out there. All in all, it depends on who you are, but you might really enjoy ICQ if you give it a shot.
