Oh boy, where do I begin with this one? I’ll try to give you a standard rundown of how you can use porn tubes to promote your own website and further your career, but more to the point, we need to figure out what makes SpankBang stand out above other sites. You need to know what makes SpankBang different from other similar porn tubes so that you can plan your marketing strategies accordingly. I’ll try to level with you – this site is one of my least favorites to cover in terms of being used as a marketing platform because it’s surprisingly vague when you compare it to other similar sites.
Not A MindGeek Site
First up, I have to point this out: SpankBang is not owned by MindGeek. This is extremely important. Those guys own PornHub, RedTube, YouPorn, and a smattering of large production sites like Brazzers, but we’re not here to talk about studios. They don’t fit in this context. We’re more concerned about the free porn tubes since they’re entirely fueled by community-submitted videos, and this is where you’re trying to slip in.
The general premise is that since anyone can upload whatever they want, these platforms can be used as promotional platforms by webmasters like yourself. We will get into the details of how you can do that in a minute, but let’s get back to the owners of SpankBang first – BigBang Media. The main thing you need to know about them is, well, they’re not MindGeek. This is significant in terms of the content they serve and the way that they network.
First of all, MindGeek’s sites all have some sort of mild deviation from the norm, with PornHub always taking center stage. SpankBang, on the other hand, is exempt from this division because it’s a site that’s not directly affiliated with that network. That said, there is still a lot of overlap in the content between these two networks. For example, the same video can appear on a million different websites. But we know that already.
Profile Your Viewers
The main analyses you need to run should center on the main pull that a particular site has regarding the types of masturbators that frequent them. For example, the mainstream rabble goes to PornHub, and the freaky fappers prefer YouPorn. Granted, that distinction is getting thinner and thinner, now that all of MindGeek’s sites are kind of gravitating closer together towards one big giant mass of generic mass-produced porn.
SpankBang appears to be taking a slightly different route. Emphasis on slightly. This site is also riddled with repetitive mainstream garbage. Check out their home page. It’s littered with fake titties and recently released mainstream porn videos featuring up-and-coming pornstars that invariably end up working for Brazzers or Blacked, that is, if their tits are large enough. However, you’ll notice that you don’t have to scroll far on SpankBang to see something properly homemade. I’m on the homepage right now, and I see at least one hentai and at least two proper homemade amateur videos. This is huge! You don’t get that kind of mixing and matching on more mainstream porn sites.
So, SpankBang is an A site where PornHub is considered A+. In many ways, this makes SpankBang a slightly better destination for you and your promotional material. In most cases, when a site is entirely sold off to the philosophy of lowest common denominator bullshit floating to the top, then your content will never make it to the top of the front page. Hell, I’d be surprised if you ever manage to get any single one of your videos gets recommended to a viewer. It just doesn’t happen. The system doesn’t favor the shit that you upload.
There’s Hope for Popularity
On SpankBang, though, you might actually float to the top of some results. You can aim for the homepage as well. I mean, if some random ass hentai video can make it to page one, why can’t your videos? At the very least, you have evidence to show that the site owners aren’t picky, and they’re not paid off by an external studio to only post their productions on the home page.
Now, let’s talk about the actual promotional materials that you’d be posting. Personally, I don’t have a marketing preference for sharing your videos on third-party sites. I’ve seen a few different approaches, and they all come with pros and cons. The two most popular ones are the trailer and full video sharing, with vastly different intent that ultimately boils down to getting viewers to visit your site.
You can share short trailers of long videos on SpankBang and make sure to title and tag them correctly so that as many people as possible find them. Of course, you don’t want to try marketing to people who are not interested in your genre unless you’re desperate. Still, you’re just asking for trouble if you mislabel your smut. Try to feed the desires that fappers already have. You don’t have to mislead them to watch your content. There are more than enough fappers to go around.
Methods of Marketing
So, you share trailers on SpankBang, people see them, and then they come back to your site to view the full video. Except, SpankBang would be really cross with you if you linked your site’s domain in the videos’ titles or descriptions, so that’s out of the question. I doubt that your videos would stay up for long if you tried that. Instead, do what everyone else does.
Insert your URL into the video itself. That, funnily enough, is not against most companies’ terms of service. I never understood why they don’t have a problem with it, but they just don’t. I see watermarked videos on every single free porn tube, and everyone’s just sort of ok with it.
Alternatively, you could also share full-length videos and even run your entire operation on SpankBang, still leading people back to your site through watermarks, but not with the promise of the rest of the video, rather, with the guarantee of more similar videos. This can work exceptionally well if you’re running a niche site with a very particular type of pornography. Now, your experience is going to vary a lot depending on how you acquire your content. For instance, if you produce your own smut, then you’ll invariably get people to flock to your site because you’ll be the only legitimate source for those videos.
Keep it Simple
But, if you’re purchasing your videos from a producer and they’re coming in from somewhere else, that means they’ll invariably be available somewhere else. So, you have to make sure that people prefer getting these videos from you instead of looking for them elsewhere. You have to get creative. First of all, try not to divulge more information than you have to. For example, if you bought a bunch of videos from a studio named, let’s say, DudePorn LLC, and you’re not obligated to share that that’s the official source, then don’t fucking share it. You’ll be marketing DudePorn LLC instead of your own site. Don’t do anything you’re not obligated to do. The same goes for the actresses in your videos. Yes, you can tag them on your site so that people can find them easier, but if you slap their names across the videos on SpankBang, then you’ll drive interest for their names rather than for your videos. People will look for the actresses by name instead of looking for more videos on your site.
Try to keep things simple and lean. First, put your videos on SpankBang with enough reason and methodology to get the people watching those videos to come back to your site. Then, ensure to track the influx of clicks with proper software and optimize for said clicks by analyzing which videos perform best for you. And also, try to figure out why those videos were such a slam dunk, then rinse and repeat.
The System Works
Free porn tubes are always going to be happy to receive free videos from external sources. You can be one of those sources if you play your cards right. SpankBang will be happy, you’ll be happy, and most importantly, your fans will be happy. Grow your porn empire slowly and responsibly by trying out different approaches and writing down what works so that you can develop a practical philosophy.
Finally, remember that these kinds of sites evolve very quickly over time. So try to stay on top of current trends and adapt to the situation. And failing that, if you’re motivated but impatient, just fucking send out every video you’ve got with a mass posting software and hope for the best. But, don’t say I didn’t warn you when that approach backfires. Either way, good luck. You’re going to need it.
