TBLOP

The Big List of Porn – The website that inspired me to get into the webmaster business. And just like they sparked my flame, I’m here to ignite yours. These guys have been around since 2008, bringing us a simple and bullshit-free breakdown of high-quality porn links to the best fap-worthy destinations. I’m not kidding; they really are the site that inspired my entire design. Granted, I took it a few steps further and had the genius idea of actually reviewing smut. But, I’m very grateful to TBLOP for paving the way for future webmasters like myself.
These days, they’ve kind of fallen by the wayside, not going to lie. They used to be the best place to start your day, especially if you start your day with your hand in your pants. But, they’ve gotten stale. There’s not a lot of fresh content here and compared to any other similar site; they don’t even have that many categories. They cover a spread, sure, but you’d expect more from a website that’s been around for more than a decade. This makes me kind of sad. Either way, they were once giants of the industry.
Today, they’re kind of like a museum of web design and webmaster procedure. You can certainly learn from them. Don’t copy anything they’ve done, obviously. They’re kind of 12 years behind at this point. But, learn from their approach. Look at their metrics and their approach to layouts as well the way that they’ve chosen which websites to run. You can also follow through the links they’ve got on here and give them some traffic revenue. Ain’t nothing wrong with that. At the very least, you can use them as encouragement. If this old ass, janky ass website is still up and making money, then you can certainly break through and make some cash yourself.
Centralized Porn Directory
The whole idea behind porn directories is that you’re building a giant affiliate network with links that pretty much pay for themselves. You get a thousand and one revenue shares under one umbrella and you don’t have to pay for your site or get new content. You just get affiliate networking solutions and add them to a list. You’re running yellow pages, son. That’s the whole shtick. I’ll admit, I didn’t get the idea for my site directly from TBLOP. I actually wanted to create a review website, because I care about sharing my opinion with people. But, my business model is eerily similar.
You are more than welcome to try and do the same thing, to be honest. It works. Even if you don’t devote your entire website to just referrals, you can still have a section that looks like this. The bottom line lesson behind TBLOP is that people like 0 hassle websites that just direct them to the smut. And yes, they could just as easily go to the source and get their smut from PornHub, but sites like TBLOP list every good destination. These are sites for people that aren’t exactly well versed in the latest and greatest porn sites. Not everyone is a porn genius. A lot of people need directories.
Inspires Confidence
What makes sites like TBLOP better than the average porn directory? Well, the lack of shady practices. It pains me to admit this, but way too many porn sites are loaded with less than honest linkage and promotions. It’s hard to tell what is an ad and what is a proper referral. It’s also impossible to know whether you’re being duped in terms of the recommendations. Like, if a webmaster says that a certain site is the best place to get your hands on some primo hentai, how can you be sure that they’re telling the truth and not promoting a website that they themselves own? You can’t. They’re free to lie to you as much as they want.
TBLOP goes the other way around on this approach. They tell you straight up that these are their own personal opinions and lists that they’ve compiled. They believe that these are the best sites on the internet for moments when you want to get your rocks off. So, you don’t have to prove they’re telling the truth because it doesn’t matter. It’s all subjective. Also, they don’t run any ads what-so-ever. TBLOP looks exactly the same with and without AdBlock. And sure, their links are actually referrals for which they receive kickbacks, but that’s fine because there’s no priority or nepotism here. The entire site is one big referral network and everyone’s free to join – yes, even websites that don’t offer referral bonuses can be listed on TBLOP.
This is exactly what encourages the average reader, or should I say, the average fapper to trust TBLOP and keep coming back to them. We’ve heard the age-old adage before – don’t click on shady links that have porn on them. If you receive an e-mail saying, “Adriana Lima leaked nudes, click here to view”, that’s probably a scam that’s going to rob you one way or the other. Casual browsers are afraid of getting scammed. They’ve heard too many scary stories. That’s why they seek out sites like TBLOP. They want to feel the air of legitimacy that comes with having a static, simple website with no ads on it. It feels legacy. It feels believable and welcoming.
Making Your Own TBLOP
If you’re going to be starting your own directory and you want to build on the success of TBLOP, then, by all means, get your hands on a template that can handle this shit for you. Do not, under any circumstance, get fooled by web developers offering to build the site for you from the ground up. That’s not smart. Built this shit in WordPress if you have to, but do not build it custom. There’s no need for that. Instead, focus on having an easily manageable database of sites and links and make sure that you standardize your formats per every referral.
That way, you can process your offers en-masse using spreadsheets and API integrations down the line. It’ll also make optimizations a hell of a lot easier, especially if you are running multiple versions of the same site. For the love of God, do not try to run this type of site manually. You will drown in referral links and regret it.
Also, make sure to remember that TBLOP themselves have stated that they do not accept payment in return for listings. They do not allow people to buy their way onto their lists and the same is true for the way I do business. I scour the internet manually to find listings that actually deserve to be on my site. If they’ve got a referral link, that’s great. If they don’t, well fuck it. I’m not here to lie to you and neither is TBLOP. It’s all about being transparent and trying to do right by the people who frequent your site.
Using TBLOP as a Webmaster
Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do with TBLOP in its current state, except for some of the subreddit listings. Those are pretty extensive. The rest of their links are pretty damn outdated. They’ve got an entire NSFW Tumblr section for example. This was all the rage five years ago. Tumblr was the place to get your hands on the hottest 18-year-old bitches. Nowadays, they’re all on OnlyFans. They realized that they could charge a premium for flashing their pussies on camera. If TBLOP was up to date, this would be reflected. The Tumblr section wouldn’t even be here.
Then, they’ve got a premium video content section with only four entries. They don’t even list OnlyFans, even though that site has been taking over the world by storm. It’s safe to say that TBLOP has been abandoned or at the very least forgotten.
This is why I said that TBLOP is kind of like a museum. It’s a great place to peer into the past and see what was considered a successful website back then. For a more modern rendition, you can check out my current website. Our layouts are very similar. I like to think that I’ve taken the business model and improved it for the later 21st century, though.
